Linguistic influences and discursive intertextualities in the news sections of Malaga newspapers in nineteenth-century: the Diario Mercantil (1869-1888)
Abstract
This paper presents a first linguistic characterization of the news sections of a Malaga newspaper from the second half of the 19th century (the Diario Mercantil). Based on the analysis of the issues preserved in the Historical Press section of the Municipal Archives of Málaga (seven issues published between 1869 and 1888), we analyze the presence of features that can be explained as linguistic interferences or as transfers from other discursive traditionalities, mainly those of the legal-administrative universe.
