La Teoría del Discurso de la Escuela de Essex en su contexto teórico
Abstract
This article presents one of the most influential approaches to discourse analysis: Discourse Theory, advocated by the Essex School. It starts by offering definitions of discourse analysis proposed by some of the prominent scholars working in the field. It then shows the theoretical context in which discourse analysis appeared, and sums up the contributions that have shaped its development. Finally, it discusses Discourse Theory itself, concentrating on its main concepts, uses and limitations.
