Abstract
Economic value of Spanish. This article presents an estimation of incomes generated in Spain by the economic activities of exploitation of Spanish as a foreign language. The estimation includes Spanish private language teaching schools, university master programs, Erasmus students’ expenditure and language text books. The study shows how and why the expansion of the Spanish language is affecting the other Spanishspeaking economies, and it analyzes the international political and economic growth of the use of Spanish as well as globalization.
