La melodía (natural) de los enunciados: aspectos semánticos y pragmáticos de la entonación
Abstract
Iconicity in language (including concepts as naturalness and motivation in language) is a topic that is acquiring more and more interest in the linguistic investigation and that proves the importance of the biological basis of language. This phenomenon concerns the different levels of language, and very specially the fonological level. In this paper we present examples of iconicity, related to the phonological level, which have to do with the expressive symbolism, and we specially try to show how intonation influences the semantic and pragmatic interpretation of utterances from principles of linguistic motivation.
