Principal metonymic projections and polysemy in Spanish color terms
Abstract
The present article analyzes the principal metonymic projections that participate in polysemy of some basic color terms in Spanish. The main aim is to find out what are the different roles of color as source domain and what are the target domains which it gives access to. Firstly, principal characteristics and key aspects of conceptual metonymy are presented. Next, the different metonymic projections which are responsible of semantic extension of color terms are described.Downloads
