Crisis of Chinese characters
Abstract
In 2013, the newspaper Xin Jing Bao conducted a survey upon the use of Chinese characters and deduced that there would be a new crisis of Chinese characters, produced by the influence of tremendous technological development and globalization more deeply every day. It is one of several admonished crises, and attention-grabbing throughout history and remains latent and patent in today's society of China. This article intends to make a chronological analysis about the crises of Chinese characters, according to the influences of cultural and computer evolutions in the social environment from the first appearance during the New Culture Movement, in order to draw a conclusion about whether it is just to be a concern in excess or a problem that must be taken seriously in the new era in which we are living.Downloads
