The informative configuration of popular scientific discourse on assisted reproduction.

Keywords: assisted reproduction, common ground, denominative variation, informational configuration

Abstract

In this article we analyze the issues that the producer of texts in the field of assisted reproduction considers in the phase of elaboration of the specialized discourse to guide the understanding of a non-specialist recipient. To do this, we start from a corpus of brochures and guides and observe different strategies to facilitate understanding: assumptions and knowledge based on common ground of the world of assisted reproduction, which is strengthened with the use of images connected through various discursive relationships with the text; and the way in which he manages and balances new information from specialized terms with information known or activated during the writing process through the use of denominative variants, explanatory paraphrases or definitional structures. We will verify that the choice and linguistic structuring of a text influence the creation and configuration of the specialized informative discourse.
