Abstract

The preschool child makes his first incursions into the social world and begin to attend schools, this fact reaffirms their autonomy and individual development but also brings a time of tension and anxiety for children. To understand the rules and standards by which the social relationships move can be complicated and express their feelings through words even more, especially in this age when the use of language is still very limited. Preschool children are innate artists and symbolic beings, their sense of intuition allow children to express through art and play without too many patterns, since this one is a way of expression that belongs to them and they find it more pleasant and familiar. The Therapeutic Intervention “Art Therapy for preschool children” bases it´s methodology on the game and on the creative capacity to resignified reality, being key aspects of the therapy: the relation with the therapist, the limits and the physical and symbolic space. The objectives that are looked in this intervention are: to stimulate the search of creative resolutions, to favour the process of reaffirmation of individuality and to facilitate the expression of emotions inside a safe environment, the space of the game.
