Abstract

When someone wants to approach himself to the world of the contemporary art and to understand their predicates, you became immersed in a tangle difficult to unravel. You realized that nothing is already what it seems, neither the art, or the circumstances in which it develops. You noticed that the contemporary artistic manifestations are absolutely mediated by a globalized world in which one the market has the last word and where the culture just tries to survive. In this field, the art moves between two poles, one that bet by the spectacle and the extravagance, and another one, that resists to lose the values that always have oriented it. But, the balance, from the seventy’s, has almost always moved in the same sense, sometimes playing the trick of the imposture and other times, the one of the confusion. Trying to clarify that maze, we will bring up some plot lines of modernity considering that they constitute the best possible way to reveal some of the limits of the contemporary art.
