Abstract

In the broad framework of intertextuality, motives constitute essential elements in literature, which are perpetuated in times, cultures and works. The motif Air castles (AT1430) has survived for centuries in various genres and textual forms, although its presence in the dramatic plays has been the least studies. Perhaps due to lack of presence or maybe because the researchers not being interested.

In this work we continue the investigations of Fradejas [1978, 2008] and Gómez and Ortiz [2015] to partially fill the existing void in theatrical samples. We provide new titles and briefly point out the link within the previous works with the intention of raising interest and expectations for a more complete picture of the survival of this motif in the Hispanic theater, in its two main aspects: the moralizing (the milkmaid´s fable) and the comic (impossible lawsuit).
