Perspectives on the care of young people from popular sectors. A collaborative research exercise
Abstract
This article addresses the meaning that care acquires from the life experiences of children and young people living in neighborhoods with numerous difficulties and deprivations. Reflects the debates and findings of a collaborative research process conducted in 2022 between a group of young people attending youth social inclusion programs in the municipality of San Martín, Buenos Aires, Argentina, and a university research group. By focusing on caregiving in difficult contexts (i.e., those affected by the impact of poverty and social vulnerability, difficulties in accessing employment, especially for young people, and high rates of conflict), the findings highlight the dilemmas and problems of caregiving. Thus, the focus shifts from tasks expressly linked to the reproduction of life to considering the material, subjective, and moral dimensions that are plotted in daily care from the perspective of young people from popular sectorsDownloads
