The specter of queer theory. Response to the book Nadie nace en un cuerpo equivocado (Nobody is born in a wrong body) by José Errasti and Marino Pérez Álvarez

Keywords: queer theory, gender identity, intersexuality, Judith Butler, affirmative therapy

Abstract

This paper tries to answer in a clear, rigorous and categorical way the fallacies formulated in the recent and polemic book Nadie nace en un cuerpo equivocado (No one is born in a wrong body). For this purpose, the ideas expressed in that book will be summarized and answered chapter by chapter. With this, it is also intended to answer and dissolve the common hoaxes, myths, distortions and misunderstandings about queer theory, gender identity and intersexuality that have been widespread in a segment of feminism and society that have assumed explicitly trans-exclusionary positions, since these same prejudices are precisely the ones that the book criticized here reflects in a more rhetorical way.
