Abstract

This paper aims to examine the economic instruments utilized by the Queen of Castile and their role in financing the establishment of networks within the royal sphere. The various techniques employed for this purpose will be evaluated, along with the significance achieved through the bestowal of favours and privileges beyond the Queen’s Lands. Specifically, particular emphasis will be placed on the redistribution of exemptions during the initial half of the 15th century, in order to assess the relational strategies and their evolution over the course of Juan II’s reign (1406-1454).
