O Sagrado gregoriano
O político como religiosidade

Resumen
A partir da segunda metade do século XI a figura de Gregório VII se tornou o tema de um crescente repertório de estórias sobre milagres, visões e proezas espirituais. As relações com o sagrado atribuídas ao papa e aliados são descritas com características singulares, delineadas pela realidade institucional da igreja romana da época. Com o apoio teórico de uma leitura sociológica da religião, propomos uma tentativa de explicar historicamente certas características centrais do “sagrado gregoriano”: a combatividade, o sentido político e a dimensão utópica.
