Abstract

The essay is an analysis of the triumphal entry of Pope Clement VII in Bologna on the 24th of October, 1529, in the occasion of the diplomatic summit and the coronation of Charles V. The iconography realized for the entry is studied in its theological-political values, aimed at celebrating the harmony and common goals of the two souverains without renouncing, on the part of the Pope, to the rivendication of the sacral primacy evoked by Moses.
