Abstract

Through a typological, stylistic and technical analysis of the materials coming from the basilica of Algezares, from Begastri and from the cerro de La Almagra, and through their comparison with plastic materials documented in the South-East, in other territories of Visigothic Hispania and in extra-peninsular areas, it will be discussed the existence of a southern production context, characterized by a substantial stylistic and formal homogeneity, partly related to the sculptural elaborations from Cuenca. This study will also analyze the handicraft issue related to the workshops (production methods and diffusion of artistic models).
