Iconography and Outfits of Basileus

Abstract

This contribution analyzes the role of status symbols and in particularly the role of imperial outfit. This inquiry applies archeological, sociological and historical effectiveness and reports themselves to the work of sovereign’s entourage, that concludes questions about the representation problems in imperial iconography. In this way, scrutinizes communication’s strategies of timor reverentiae, that model the official image of byzantine sovereign. So can be seen a new horizon in the research regarding the phenomenology of regality.
