Abstract

King Ferdinand died in the early hours of January 23, 1516 in the village of Madrigalejo and his corpse was buried alongside his wife Isabel on February 6 in Granada, as he had in his will. Through the sources of that time we will highlight various aspects of royal ceremonial funeral that were developed in the places where the funeral procession passed along those fifteen days from death to burial.
