La representación visual de las ventas. Una interpretación pragmática
Abstract
This article analyses the inns in the novel Don Quixote by artists of different nationalities (German, Dutch. English,), which date from the 17th century. Those from the foreign texts are seen to vary considerable with respect to the Spanish ones. Starting from the hypothesis that the different visual representations offered by the illustrations are due to the process of cultural adaptation on the part of that the illustrators, it is considered possible that these changes may be seen in the light of Searle’s theory of intentionality. The results suggest that the cultural transformations which the illustrations have undergone impose pragmatic powers on them.Downloads
