Pastores de Belén, de Lope de Vega: ¿ Una novela para niños?
Abstract
Analysis of the elements of a Lope de Vega’s novel which connect it with the infantile literature. Study of the adaptation for children of this novel written during the franquist context. In 1612, Lope published a novel, Pastores de Belén, dedicated to his son, Carlos Félix. This complex, hybrid work has features which connect it with the infantile literature. However, we are forced to recognize that Lope did not write it for the childhood. In 1941, the publishing house Juventud brought out an adaptation for the children. A comparaison between the original text and the adaptation enabled to underline the different modifications known by the Lope’s text which are interpretables through the historical context.Downloads
