El cuento 73 de "Las cien novelas de Juan Bocacio" ajeno al "Decameron"

Abstract

Tale 73 of the Spanish translation of the Decameron, from the 1496 Seville edition (Inc. B 399 of the Royal Library of Brussels), is an apocryphal text whose author and origin are unknown; the tale’s main narrative motifs, characters and actions will be analysed in orden to demonstrate that they are in tune with the narrative techniques of the book, and to show, in contrast, their possible distance from some of the more personal characteristics of the Decameron ideology. A copy of the tale appears in the appendix, not for philological purposes but rather with the aim of broadening its circulation and as an advance of the critical edition of the book.
