El análisis del videoclip desde una perspectiva musicológica: el caso de "Entre dos tierras" de Héroes del Silencio
Abstract
Music plays a fundamental role in the formation of audio-visual language; however, many of the analyses that have been carried out in the academic world have been characterised by an emphasis on the visual aspect, ignoring the importance of the musical text. This article analyses the videoclip to the song Entre dos tierras, by the Spanish group Héroes del Silencio, from a musicological perspective that confirms the importance of musical parametres in the formation of an audio-visual text. Moreover, this analysis is not exclusively centred on the formal aspect of the audio-visual text, but issues such as the identification of the group with the style and imagery associated with rock, without forgetting the promotional nature of the videoclip and the conditions deriving from the market in which video production is situated, as well as the career of the band, in the lines with recent suggestions from authors such as Andrew Goodwin, Nicholas Cook, Gianni Sibilla and Carol Vernalis. The article thus provides an overview of the most important analytical methodologies of the videoclip in recent years.
