En torno al casticismo de Moreno Torroba: "La Chulapona" como epígono del sainete lírico
Abstract
In the score of La Chulapona (1934) Moreno Torroba summarizes the main dramaturgical procedures of the género chico, cultivating what musicological historiography defined as casticismo, or traditionalism. This article reflects on the meaning of this term, analyzing different texts such as Torroba’s inaugural address to the Academy of Fine Arts of Madrid, and reviews which elements of the sainete lírico are present in the work as a way of understandi how his conception of casticismo is embodied in this zarzuela.Downloads
