Sextorsión y mansplaining: caracterización y percepción social del léxico de la violencia de género en los medios digitales
Abstract
The following article analyses the lexicon of gender-based violence in the press and in the digital media. The corpus consists of more than 200 texts from feminist activist websites and articles on gender from websites, fashion magazines and digital press. The time frame covers from 2011 to 2021. The analysis is based on a quantitative and qualitative methodology and contributions on the concept of neologisms from a cognitive perspective. The objective is to register which terms and expressions related to the language of gender violence are used in these texts and to know the degree of cognition and perception of a new lexicon by society. The results show that it is an unknown lexicon with a high level of neologicity for the speakers.
