Analysis of micro-story’s suitability in scientific dissemination
Abstract
Scientific dissemination requires instruments to make science reach society in an accessible and attractive way. With the rise of new technologies, the range of tools to achieve this end is wide, but a genre such as micro-story gains importance in a world of immediacy. Through the study of the informative discourse of a sample of micro-stories, the suitability of this instrument for dissemination is assessed by means of a selection of criteria previously established by academic experts in the field and another important sum set by the authors of this article. Most scientific short stories follow the basic principles of this genre. However, there are certain characteristics related to scientific dissemination that could be improved. A model of a scientific micro-story suitable for scientific dissemination is presented. It is concluded that micro-story is an ideal format to communicate science.
