Central Catalan Vowels in Spontaneous Speech
Abstract
This article presents the acoustic description Central Catalan vowels in spontaneous speech and difines vowel dispersion space. For this research a corpus was created comprising 896 vowels uttered of normalised (Watt & Fabricius, 2002), by 67 speakers, of different professions and from different regions, of the central dialect variety in a context of true and genuine spontaneous speech. Based on the results obtained, we have been able to verify that in spontaneous speech Central Catalan vowels present very wide dispersion margins.
