Una propuesta subléxica para la polisemia- el caso del verbo de desplazamiento salir
Abstract
A sub-lexical approach to the polysemy: the case of the Spanish motion verb salir (‘exit’). This paper approaches the question of polysemy represented by the Spanish motion verb salir (‘exit’) from a sub-lexical perspective within the theoretical framework of Generative Lexicon. With a quite exhaustive study of the regular semantic extensions of the concerned verb, we’ve shown that its different meanings are generated principally due to an interaction with the information contained in the nominal nuclei of its arguments and adjuncts. The extension of meaning of the verb constitutes a semantic scale that starts with the most basic meanings and then extends to the most peripheral ones. The relevant information of the nominal nuclei just mentioned is codified as quale features (namely agentive, formal, constitutive and telic qualia) in a so-called Structure of Qualia. Combining with the qualia information of its arguments and adjuncts, the verb would suffer correspondent changes in its argumental, eventive and qualia structures, which leads to the formation of the traditionally called ‘metaphorical’ and ‘figurative’ meanings of the verb.Downloads
