Abstract

On the uses of the Spanish preposition entre: the performative sense. This paper deals with the pragmatic aspects of the statements with constructions headed by the preposition between. We describe those constructions as triggers of the performative sense of a series of sequences that have “share” and “selection” semantics. Thus, we intend to show the nature of the performative contexts of "shared state" and "selection", typical of the meaning of some of the verbs which is associated with the prepositional phrase introduced by between. We shall delve, therefore, into pragmatic, semantic and syntactic aspects, as the review of the conditions that must be met in the determination of a performative speech act, the pragmatic influence of certain verbs (such as decide) on the notion of performativity, the relevance of the Aspectual component, the Topicalization and 'locative' complementation, the latter two being the syntactic peculiarities that are represented in the form of SSPP (between) or locutions of the type instead of…
