The discourse markers in the educated norm of the city of Santander, Spain
Abstract
The study of geographical and sociolinguistic variation in discourse markers began about 15 years ago (Valencia Espinoza 2014a; Valencia Espizona and Viguera Ávila 2015). However, until now, no work has been published that analyzes the situation of these elements in a variety of central-northern Spanish. The following lines show the results obtained in the city of Santander, located on the northern coast of Spain. The conclusions point to the homogeneity in the use of discourse markers in Spanish regardless of the geographical component.
