Lisabetta y el tiesto de albahaca (Decamerón IV, 5): el sustrato folclórico de Boccaccio
Abstract
In the story VI, 5 of Decameron, Boccaccio uses a popular Italian song at that time as an excuse to create a tale in which he links different folk-motifs with true mastery. The article describes the close bond of that famous episode with the type of tale ATU 769, which deals with a friendly apparition of a deceased to his relatives. It also establishes a connection with the ballad La enamorada de un muerto, and finally with the main folkloric and narrative features of the Polydorus passage in the Aeneid and its universal literary parallels.Downloads
