Abstract

The manuscript Esc J-II-21 is a partial translation of Boccaccio’s Decameron and is the earlier Castilian version preserved. The peculiarities of the manuscript give a philological interest, not only to understand the first steps of the diffusion of the book in the Iberian Peninsula, but also as testimony of a late medieval translation between romance languages.
