Abstract

The author of this paper tries to study a small number of syntactic themes in order to examine the method and process of the Bible latin translators. a fine and detailed analysis is necessary not only from input language but also from output language. For this purpose he has chosen the following items: 1) hebrew suffixes and its translation into Latin; 2) word order and construct state; 3) relative clause; 4) hebrew connective wau and its translation into latin; 5) the construction in + accusative expressing the atribute of latin nominal phrase; 6) adverbial finite verb and its translation into latin; 7) the comparative Semitic features in latin translation; 8) hebrew feminine and Latin neuter.
