Abstract

This article traces the presence of Pompeii in contemporary Spanish poetry, from 1970 until nowadays. Through the poetic work of Antonio Colinas, Alejandro Duque Amusco, Víctor Botas, David Pujante or Federico J. Silva, among others, this episode will be analysed both in its historical and fictional representation (occasionally not much similar), and in its symbolic and psychological dimension (with the different formulations of the topic of ruins, love feeling, etc.).
