Abstract
The V Book of Manilius’ Astronomica is the main source of some passages in the Viii Book of Firmicus Maternus’ Mathesis. This paper aims to display a description of the procedures used by Firmicus Maternus in his reception and reformulation of the manilian text. in the process Firmicus will combine the need of preserving the mainstream of the technical and scientific information with the literary aemulatio of his source-model.Downloads
