Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to focus on various literary aspects routinely ignored by critics in the analysis of Tristia 4.10, such as, for example, its argumental and formal particularity, with characteristics quite nearly those of the genre of bigraphy –mainly the lives of poets–, or the importance of understanding its place among the collection of elegies that constitute Tristia. these aspects probably make it the first poetic autobiography in roman literature,Downloads
