Los excerpta del manuscrito L.III.33 de la Real Biblioteca de El Escorial
Abstract
The manuscript L.III.33 of San Lorenzo de El Escorial Monastery Royal Library, is a 10th century codex of great interest for the manuscript tradition of the Epitoma rei militaris of Vegetius, an author whose work is copied in the first part of the volume. The rest of the codex includes a series of excerpts that are divided into groups according to the peculiar preference of the compiler for the nautical field. The aim of this article is to study such excerpta attending to different aspects: The origin of the selection, the copyist’s labour and work method, and its relationship with the Vegetius’ technical treatise.Downloads
