Virgilio y la épica española del XIX: el Colón de Ramón de Campoamor y sus dependencias virgilianas
Abstract
The present work focuses on various aspects concerning the evolution of the Spanish epic poetry of the XIXth century in relation to its dependence on Virgilian epopee. In the first part, it analyses the formal aspects of the romantic and realist classical epic poetry, as well as its internal evolution. Next, it studies the Aeneid’s influence as a generic and episodical model in a forgotten epopee of Columbian theme of the19th century, Ramón de Campoamor’s Colón. General aspects of the classical epic poetry that serve as a literary model to this example of Columbian epic poetry, are analysed along with structures and parallels similar to Virgil’s epic poem.Downloads
