Abstract

The present work gathers the most significant texts of four tragedies of Seneca: Oedipus, Phoenissae, Agamemnon and Thyestes, which allow us to plan the path of the legendary facts that form a part of the saga of the Labdacids and that of the Pelopids. We analyze the imitation that Seneca does of the Greek theatre and we confirme the originality of the Latin theatre, with regard to the Greek, specially by the profuse utilization that he does of the mythology.
