Talassio
Abstract
The invocation to Talassio in the weddings has its roots in the Roman tradition of the founding of city. This term was identified with the Greek Hymenaeus, although it was semantically wider and more specialized in the Latin authors, particularly in Martial, who uses it in licentious way. It is also about the relation between the invocation to Talassio and the fescennina iocatio in Catullus and Sidonius Apollinaris.Downloads
