The duae horae bonae of women. Plautius’ commentary to Persius 2.14
Abstract
The scholarly commentary by the humanist Ioannis Baptista Plautius, a disciple of Philippus Beroaldus, who was edited in Bologna in 1502, is characterized by its length and because it provides quite a few novelties in his explanation of the Persian text. We analyze in these pages a clear example of his work, which gives new light to a place in Persio.
