Aranguren and Kant: against demoralization
Abstract
This paper aims to study, from both Kant’s and Aranguren’s theoretical perspectives, the importance of not succumbing to demoralization. Kant’s theory on hope- his philosophy on morality and history- allow us to comprehend the reasons why it is possible to talk about a move towards Kant in Aranguren’s philosophy. The hope for a better future becomes, for both philosophers, the keystone of moral commitment. To analyze how Aranguren and Kant face demoralization and its philosophical implications constitute the main object of this study.
