Kant's Doctrine of Definition in the Lessons on Logic (1770-1782)
Abstract
The kantian doctrine of definition is analyzed in this paper. The development of this doctrine is studied in the precritical lecture notes on logic. Kant's thoughts are compared with Meier’s theory of definitions. It is claimed that Kant organizes his considerations on this topic starting from the points chosen by Meier, but being critical with his thesis.
