A contribution to learning of the future, through art mediation.
Abstract
The contemporary visual art can be the tool to think about the visual environment, also an excuse to explore the unexplored and establish relationships with the world. The present work describes and analyzes the prototype of educational innovation: Making Art Happen, and mainly it consists of the creation of multidisciplinary work teams, composed of: a contemporary artist, a cultural mediator and a university professor, who design experiential situations in the classroom, in which to practice the creative process, as a possible material to fabulate, reflect, and apprehend about the subject to be treated. These artistic situations are designed according to the subject matter of university study plan. The goal of this research is to evaluate the impact of these experiences as a means for students to express and learn in a critical, unique and personal way in a highly visual, changing and dynamic world. A combination of quantitative and qualitative techniques was applied for this study.
The students were able to access the subject matter through the creative process learned with the artist. So, according to our impact studies, was a successful way to learn, a reason to intended to create a long-term database of artistic actions in transversal subjects belonging to different university disciplines; and to achieve, in this way, incorporate the artistic situations designed, as a contemporary tool for current teachers.
