Creative processes and images as ethnographic tools in the aging study

Abstract

The article addresses the scope of a methodology through the image and creative processes of art within the context of anthropological research in collaboration with art therapy on the aging processes in a group of women from the city of Quito-Ecuador. It includes a brief state of the question and a sample of the process, from where the image, the body and the story of life are located as points of encounter between disciplines. Concludes by highlighting the potential of art in the methodology and production of social knowledge, as it promotes dialogical and reflexive approaches between social agents and researchers; facilitates the activation of memories; offers other forms of narrative articulation; among others.

Denisse Alexandra Zamorano Enríquez, Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales. Sede Ecuador

Escultora y  arteterapeuta titulada en la Universidad de Chile.  Posee experiencia  en el campo de las artes aplicadas  dentro de distintos ámbitos: sociales,   educativos y de la   salud mental, con niños y  jóvenes vulnerados de sus derechos, niños y jóvenes diagnosticados con autismo, y con adultos y jóvenes en condición de internamiento psiquiátrico.   Ha sido docente  de arte y ha impartido distintos  cursos  teóricos y experienciales sobre  Arteterapia  y Creatividad  en el espacio de Arte Actual (FLACSO), en el departamento IDEA  de la Universidad San Francisco de Quito y en la Facultad de Psicología de la Universidad Católica del Ecuador. Actualmente cursa una Maestría de Investigación en  Antropología Visual en FLACSO-Ecuador.
