From Novel to Film: Punk in the Adaptation of Stories from the Kronen by José Ángel Mañas and Montxo Armendáriz
Abstract
In the review of the film adaptation cinema is regarded as a subsidiary means of literature. As a part of a methodological approach that considers the changes introduced in his work as a way to enrich the literary text and produce an hypertext that includes references to the hypotext without necessarily mirroring it, as well as taking into account the creative subjectivity of the filmmaker. The aim of this paper is to study how both authors of Historias del Kronen processed the aesthetics and philosophy of punk counterculture and what differences their ideologies had when portraying a generation and its features, such as the obsession with violence in the audiovisual media or with drugs.
