Abstract

The artistic literature dedicated to perspective was scarce in our country between XVI and XVII centuries, as much in original studies as in translations. The multidisciplinarity of in caused not few refusals, as much among the own artists, who considered disproportionate the projective effort related with daily practice, as among mathematicians who judged pejoratively the arstistic pespective. A singular case is that of Felipe Lazaro of Goiti who did not only translate in 1643 many chapters of the tracts of Daniele Barbaro and Vignola-Danti, dedicated to this science; but in 1646 prepared an edition on «cortes de cantería» of Vandelvira. Both works, itself were not published and remain in the National Library of Madrid.
