Interaction and transformation of gardens and landscapes with colossal sculptures by Picasso
Abstract
The article analyzes the interaction and transformation of gardens and landscapes with sixteen colossal statues by and such a sculptural group former by four others by Picasso, all made between 1958 and 1971 with de collaboration of Carl Nesjar and Lionel Presjer as sculptors by trade; and a posthumous one from the year 1991, raised by professors from the Scoler Foundation of Texas with inappropriate materials from Picasso and his collaborators. All these sculptures, whose heights range from a little over three to fifteen meters high, were made by magnifying original Picasso originals with exactitude, and are found throughout Europe and the United States. The synthesis language and the intentional placement were key to the redefinition of gardens and natural spaces, which they articulated with different purposes and significant achievements, both in private properties and in important historical gardens to whose cultural and social projection they contribute and in urban spaces that were revalued in that way.
