Abstract

This article presents the results of the study of data obtained through the codicological analysis of the Codex Mendoza. Being a complex and extensive document, the article focuses only on the support in European paper and the document’s pagination. In spite of this, the conclusion of this analysis shows an important characteristic the order of instalments and the pagination indicate that the third section, about ethnography, is an addition that was made later. Moreover, it is demonstrated that the image of Motecuhzoma on the folio 69r was painted by a different author to the author of the rest.
