Abstract
This article suggests different readings of the book The Second Sex by Simone de Beauvoir, as done by four French artists: Louise Bourgeois, Nikki de Saint Phal, Annette Messeguer and Sophie Calle. Departing from this imaginary encounter, the paper analyzes the work of these artists from a debeauvoirian perspective, focusing especially in the terms “situation” and “A/alterity.”Downloads
