Rural women and socio-economic dynamisation strategies in Spain for their inclusion: a desk research study
Abstract
Introduction. In Spain, in rural areas, women's participation in the socio-labour sphere is undervalued, although they are essential in employment, entrepreneurship and innovation. Objectives. In this sense, this documentary research study aims to review, from the discipline of social work, what kind of actions increase and make visible the empowerment of women, socio-labour insertion and gender equality in rural areas in Spain. Methodology. The methodological process was carried out through a bibliographic search in the Social Service Abstract and Sociological Abstract databases, providing bibliographic coverage of research in relation to our object of study and our discipline. Results. The results point to the lack of research on the inclusion of women in socio-economic revitalisation strategies in rural Spain between 2010 and 2020. Conclusions. Therefore, it is necessary to develop research and social intervention programmes that are adapted to the social reality of women in the environment in which they intervene. These actions must be flexible, adapted to the real needs of rural women, innovative, comprehensive and based on active participation, leadership and empowerment.
